Tauhid sebagai Landasan Filosofis dalam Menangkal Arus Sekularisasi Pendidikan Islam

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the role of tawhid (monotheism) as a philosophical foundation in countering the tide of secularization in Islamic education. The secularization of education has caused an epistemological crisis characterized by the separation of knowledge from transcendental values, a dichotomy between religious and general sciences, and the loss of moral and spiritual orientation in the educational process. Employing a qualitative approach with library research, this study examines in depth the thoughts of key figures such as Syed Muhammad Naquib al-Attas with his concepts of ta'dib (adab-based education) and Islamic worldview, as well as Ismail Raji al-Faruqi with his project of Islamization of knowledge. The findings reveal that tawhid is not merely a theological doctrine but an integrative worldview encompassing ontological, epistemological, and axiological dimensions in education. The implementation of the tawhidic paradigm has proven capable of shaping holistic, characterized learners who possess spiritual awareness as well as social responsibility. This study recommends strengthening the tawhidic worldview in the Islamic education system through the development of educators with a tawhidic perspective, the development of an integrative curriculum, and institutional reform as a constructive response to the challenges of modernity.
